How Students Can Block Messages/Users and Report Abuse

Students can block anyone, for example, someone sending abusive messages.

Click the settings next to the sender's name.

In this example, when the student Mary blocks her classmate Nancy, they can no longer send messages to one another. This option is available in 1-1 messaging.

The 1-1 conversation with Nancy will now have the following message:

For Nancy, the conversation looks normal at first glance, but when trying to send a message, the following alert appears, showing that Mary is not available:

Nancy can still send messages in other conversations (groups, courses, projects) where both she and Mary participate, it is only the 1-1 conversation that is affected.

While the blocking feature is not yet available in the mobile app, messages in the 1-1 conversation sent from the app will not be sent/received if the block has been switched on.

Students can also report abusive messages to their teachers. Click the down three dots on the right of the message to report abuse.
