Courses must first be aligned with learning objectives or standards to track student mastery. Mastery scales are set at the district level, and while related, the tracking of standards is separate from the grade book. You may track standards mastery and not use the grade book or you may use the grade book and not track mastery.
There are three activities that track mastery: assignments, tasks and tests.
You will see three tabs in the learning objectives progress report: learning objectives, participants, assessments.
De Leerdoelen tab
The learning objectives tab includes all of the standards that have been aligned to the course (seen above). By expanding each category, you can view:
- Number of students who are meeting the standard (achievement levels are determined at the district level)
- Description of the standard
- Percentage of students in the course who have mastered the standard
A status summary is available by clicking on the title of the standard or the numbers next to each achievement level.
The status summary provides the student name, achievement and mastery status, and the number of personalized tasks that have been assigned to each student.
It is in this view that personalized tasks may be assigned to students using the recommendation engine.
A detailed mastery report for each student is also available by clicking on a student’s name. This detailed view shows the assessment criteria (rubrics used to score the standard), assessment history, and alignment (course elements aligned to the standard and their completion).
De Deelnemers tab
The participants tab lists all students in a course and the mastery percentage for each student. Detailed information may also be viewed by clicking on a student’s name or their achievement level.
De Beoordelingen tab
The assessments tab lists the activities that were used to assess the standards. This report lists the assessment, type, and date that it was assessed. Specific details are available by clicking on the assessment title.
