Some schools want the added security of using passwords to access tests.

Adding a password means the test can be embargoed/hidden until the password is shared.

This will help districts and schools/organizations better manage centralized tests because tests can be added to a course by teachers or pushed out centrally using course templates.

Here's how to add a password to a test:

Add a password to a test in the security section of the settings. The setting is off by default.

The alphanumeric password can be between 1 and 32 characters (A-Z, a-z and 0-9).

Both the password setting and the password itself are retained when a test is copied or shared.

When a student starts or re-attempts to take the test, a password prompt will appear.

The same happens when a teacher reviews the test, as this simulates the student experience.

For time-limit tests, the countdown does not begin until the password is accepted.
